  9/7/2003 Day 5: Kuala Teku - Kem Melantai

Left K. Teku, heading for Melantai.

Just crossed 2nd river. 5 more rivers to go.

Crossed 4th river. 3rd river was within 5 minutes of 2nd one.

Crossed 2nd last river.

Reached K. Puteh, 112m. Kem Melantai is 13km away, we needed to climb G. Rajah to get there.

Reached summit of G. Rajah at 576m, very hot at the top as it was quite exposed. There were no trees, only ferns.

Reached Kem Tengah, height 379m. This was the original campsite we planned to camp, but Uncle George decided that with our pace we could still go further. 3 more hours to go according to guide.

Reached Kem Melantai. Wen Fei and I was the last to reach the campsite. I had a few more blisters on my legs. Consulation was tomorrow was only 4 hours out. We managed to reach here before the sky turned dark.

  10/7/2003 Day 6: Kem Melantai - Kuala Tahan

Set off from Melantai.

Reached Kuala Tahan. Wen Fei was so happy she completed the trek that she treated us lunch at the resort's restaurant. After resting and finishing lunch at the resort, we took the boat to the other side of the river as the accommodation there is cheaper.
